Te Puna Ora o Mataatua is a leading regional Māori health and wellbeing provider in Aotearoa.
Established in 1991, Te Puna Ora o Mataatua delivers an integrated range of community health, general medical, homebased and social services throughout the Mataatua rohe, mai Ngā Kuri a Whārei ki Tihirau, with whānau wellbeing at the heart of its mahi.

This is an opportunity for an experienced people and service leader to take responsibility for a broad Whānau Ora and social services portfolio and lead mahi that makes a meaningful difference for whānau and communities across Mataatua. As Whānau Ora & Social Services Manager, you will provide leadership and direction across a diverse portfolio of services, contracts and kaimahi, ensuring services are well led, connected and delivering against their commitments to whānau and funders.
This is a hands-on leadership role that brings together people, service delivery, relationships and performance. You will support and develop kaimahi, maintain oversight of contract and service performance, and ensure reporting, compliance and audit requirements are well managed. You will also build and maintain trusted relationships with funders, external agencies and community partners.
Importantly, you will be a visible and supportive leader who can bring people together, build capability and create the conditions for both kaimahi and services to thrive.
Ngā pūkenga me whai | Your skills and experience
We are looking for an experienced leader who understands the realities of delivering whānau-centred social services and can confidently balance people leadership, operational performance and strong stakeholder relationships.
You will bring:
- Current Social Worker registration.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead, develop and support a sizeable team.
- Strong experience managing a portfolio of services and contracts.
- Sound commercial and operational judgement, including an understanding of budgets, contract performance, reporting, compliance and audit requirements.
- Strong relationship management skills and confidence working with funders, external agencies and community partners.
- The ability to navigate competing priorities while maintaining a clear focus on quality service delivery and outcomes for whānau.
- A genuine commitment to kaupapa Māori and working in alignment with Te Poutokomanawa.
