Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust (NMST) is a kaupapa Māori organisation dedicated to delivering outcomes for the iwi through governance, environmental stewardship, cultural revitalisation, and economic development. Guided by Te Tiriti o Waitangi and grounded in manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga, NMST works to strengthen relationships with whānau, hapū, and the wider community. The Trust exists to receive, administer, manage, protect and grow its assets to ensure the cultural, commercial, and social development of Ngāti Manuhiri for current and future generations.
This is a pivotal role providing high-level, proactive executive support to the Tumu Whakarae. You will operate as a trusted advisor and central coordination point, ensuring the CEO is prepared, prioritised, and positioned to lead effectively across a dynamic and full workload. You will bring foresight, sound judgement, and initiative, enabling the smooth delivery of organisational priorities while managing sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Key responsibilities and skills/experience required:
- Proactively manage a calendar, ensuring bookings align with the availability of the Tumu Whakarae CEO and their key priorities.
- Prepare high-quality briefings, correspondence, and documentation for meetings and engagements.
- Act as a key liaison between the Tumu Whakarae - CEO, Board, kaimahi, and key external stakeholders.
- Coordinate strategic initiatives, projects, and follow-up actions across the organisation.
- Support stakeholder engagement, including iwi, hapū, and community relationships.
- Manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Ensure seamless coordination of logistics across multiple commitments, including travel/accomodation arrangements.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate needs and remain one step ahead in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and confidence using digital tools and systems.
- Strong organisational, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of te reo me ōna tikanga, with an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
